Many users need to apply a hard reset to our terminals, sometimes malfunction and others simply because we want to erase all personal content and leave no trace. But some problems have been detected in this process and some terminals cannot get through the first step showing constantly spinning gears. Then I discussed a procedure to try to recover that terminal.
Many of you know the procedure to do a hard reset of any terminal Nokia Lumia. Thus, before a major problem or just because we want to delete all content, we can apply the procedure and retrieve a phone. But, like everything related to software, is not without risks
So many readers have reported that during the terminal remains unused in the initial state when recovery is being implemented leaving only a gear on the screen that does not stop spinning for hours. This problem not only, what we have when we perform a hard reset, but we face before a software update via OTA.
The good news is that, before taking the handset to Nokia stores to recover it, now you can try to first make a terminal recovery at home, and try to fix it yourself. I count the steps.
Step 1: Install Nokia Software Updater for Retail
The first step is to download the software from Nokia that allows us to install our phone firmware. This software has already been discussed when we explain how to upgrade to Lumia Amber has been recently updated. So if you had not installed the hype download and if you had it already, just open it and know that there is an update.
Step 2: Connect your Phone to your Computer
The next step is simply to connect the phone to the computer with the USB cable. Of course, the unit is switched on if it was not, but not recognized by any application (you may see a message indicating that it recognizes a USB device.) We start the Nokia Software Update for Retail and see the image indicates that we connect the phone.
Underneath the drawing, we see a button that tells us: “my device will not start”. It’s what we have to choose to enter into the wizard will use in the next step.
Step 3: Software Reset Terminal
In this step, click on continue, so that the program tries to find the phone, and then you apply a soft reset. To do this, we pressed the buttons on and volume down until we noticed a vibration. When the phone starts to boot again, you should see that it is recognized by the program.
Step 4: Install the Firmware
In this step, if necessary, download the necessary firmware Nokia server, and then proceed with the installation. To install a full firmware, to perform a clean installation of the software on the terminal, so that if there is a hardware problem it should be solved and recover your phone.
I hope that this tutorial might be helpful to you and let you retrieve those terminals that are giving you headaches after hard reset.
